Our good friends from NYC, and “future” NJP alumni JOLLY suffered a devastating loss brought forth by the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy.
In September 2012, we were fortunate enough to secure the biggest opportunity of our career to date; a spring 2013 tour opening for Riverside to promote our upcoming album, “The Audio Guide To Happiness (Part 2).”
On October 29th, 2012, Hurricane Sandy brought major flooding to Rockaway Park, destroying our drummer Louis’ home, which also functioned as JOLLY’s practice space and recording studio. Despite efforts to elevate valuables and board up windows, the storm surge exceeded all expectations, busting through the boarded windows and ripping through our headquarters, completely destroying most of our equipment and Louis’ personal possessions. A majority of what we used to make our music was violently tossed around and left covered in sewage water, mud, sand, and garbage.
We’re looking to rebuild and get new gear to continue making music for all of you, the incredible people who have always been the foundation of JOLLY. In order to make this album and tour possible, we are calling on you, our fans and friends, to help us with this effort. [CONTINUE READING]
