For the month of December, 2018 we want to sell a live show we played way back in September of 2002. It was a special night due to three things: Jim’s involvement, two of our bass players were in the neighborhood (Tom Hyatt and Jesse Reyes), and we had the means to record the evening. The gig was a real foot-stomper, with a relaxed vibe, laughs, and much musical intensity. How often to you get to play in a house declared a museum? The room is part of the recording!

We originally released only 50 or 100 copies (we can’t remember) of this album to those that attended. The show has remained “off the shelves” since the fall of 2002. We want to officially make it available for the first time and see if we can generate some cash for Jim. All the sales we generate in December will be given to Jim Robinson and his family. December is a tough month for many reasons; perhaps we can share some goodness for our friend and warm his heart, as he has warmed ours.

The show was recorded on 16-tracks and represents close to 2-hours of live music. We had also just released our album Mei earlier that year, so you’ll get to hear a great “live in an old house” version with Ray, Chris, Paul, and Brett blasting the song out in its entirety. A rare excerpt from A Suite for the Everyman, an acoustic version of Suffocating the bloom, Carpe Diem with Jesse on bass, as well as an even rarer “band version” of Never the Same all add diverse reasons to include this live performance in your music collection.

The show is $15 (or more, if you choose) for two hours of live music in a very intimate setting. Our dear friend Jim Robinson has suffered a massive heart attack, requiring intensive treatment and a long and challenging period of recovery. While Jim recovers in the hospital, his wife Sharon and son Jacob have been alternating between visits to him and managing life from and at home, as well as school and work. As the days pass, costs for Jim’s care and the needs of Sharon and Jacob will continue to mount. NJ Proghouse founder Jim Robinson suffered a massive heart attack last Thursday, September 6th. He has received and is continuing to receive treatment in hospital intensive care. Recovery is expected to take weeks if not longer. Due to the severity of Jim’s condition, we will need to cancel our upcoming Soft Machine/Accordo di Contrari/Beledo show that’s scheduled for October 9th. (Ticketholders will be receiving full refunds shortly.) Any thoughts and good wishes for Jim’s continued recovery would be most welcome.

IZZ Vocalist Laura Meade to Release Her Debut Full-Length Studio Album Remedium on May 18, 2018

Meade’s background in musical theatre helps define her unique approach as a lyricist and musician. Remedium combines Meade’s love of art rock with the emotion of musical theatre. In addition to being a vocalist for the progressive rock band IZZ, her career includes performances around the world with many different artists and on a multitude of stages. 
 
Remedium features progressive, adventurous extended tracks such as “Sunflowers at Chernobyl” and “Dragons” as well as songs with art-pop sensibilities such as “Conquer the World”. Meade’s incredible range and versatility as a vocalist is evidenced throughout the album and particularly on songs such as “Every Step” and “What I See From Here”.
 
Meade is joined by her IZZ bandmates on several songs as well as Randy McStine (The Fringe, Lo-Fi Resistance) on “Sunflowers at Chernobyl” and Jason Hart (I and Thou, Renaissance, Camel) on “Irradiation”.
